Meet the New Jersey criminal lawyers of Schwartz & Posnock.

DAVID A. SCHWARTZ, ESQ.  is a partner in the law firm of Schwartz & Posnock. Mr. Schwartz, an attorney since 1983, is licensed in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and California, as well as before the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Schwartz was a member of the Executive Committee of the Criminal Law Section of the State Bar of California in 1996.
As a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Law Department, New York, Special Federal Litigation Division, Mr. Schwartz was awarded the Division Chief’s Award for Outstanding Legal Services on behalf of the City of New York in 2003.

Mr. Schwartz clerked for the Hon. John Garrett Penn, U.S.D.J., in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and worked extensively on the trial ABSCAM defendant John Jenrrett, former U.S. Congressman from South Carolina.

LESLIE B. POSNOCK, ESQ., is a partner in the law firm of Schwartz & Posnock. Ms. Posnock, an attorney since 1984, is licensed in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and California. Ms. Posnock is a former public defender in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Ms. Posnock has represented individuals in hundreds of cases, involving charges of murder, drugs, sexual assault, mail fraud, wire fraud, theft, forgery, kidnapping, robbery, assault, burglary, Municipal Court matters (including traffic ticket defense), and driving under the influence cases. She has successfully litigated numerous appeals and petitions for post-conviction relief. She has also represented witnesses before Federal and State Grand Juries, and has obtained expungements for her clients.

Ms. Posnock was trial and appellate counsel in State of New Jersey v. Alex Grant, an important case in which her client’s indictment for murder was dismissed by the Appellate Division.

Ms. Posnock has lectured on criminal law topics to the Bar Association of San Francisco Young Lawyers Division, and has written articles on criminal law topics, including “A Model Code of Conduct,” Business Crimes Bulletin, Compliance and Litigation, Vol. 1, No. 3, April 1994. While a student at the University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Posnock worked for the Hon. A. Leon Higginbotham, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

CHRISTINE M. PALUMBO, is an associate in the law firm of Schwartz & Posnock.  Ms. Palumbo, an attorney since 2010, is licensed in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey.

Prior to joining Schwartz & Posnock as an attorney, Ms. Palumbo was an associate at Dechert L.L.P. in the firm’s Princeton office. During law school, Ms. Palumbo interned at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the Superior Court of New Jersey – Mercer County, Criminal Division, and the Superior Court of New Jersey – Monmouth County, Criminal Division.
